good pm guys... i would like to ask you opinion sa structure sa pond sa new keepers sa GSKK... this is his pond...





specs i observed:

properly design
no lickages
with 2 tpr
with surface skimmer
with 4 filters chambers
with waste valve
with 2 bottom drains 4" diameter (kaso gauge murag pang cr iya drain)


problems & quiries:
1.mahubsan ang last chamber
2.walay exist filtered water- only thru 2 tpr only both on opposite directions creating vortex or clockwise direction
3.no proper designation sa compressor - 2 airstones
4.need more kois


PALIHOG ko need nako inyo opinion... although nakahimo nako set up.. but your opinions & ideas are highly appreiciated... thanks thanks thanks

Dako man ang tubo from chamber to chamber.
Tangtangon tong murag strainer sa BD kay mura man sa c.r og ang output sa pump deretso sa pond dili na ipaagi sa tpr..kung mahubas pa gihapon.. Heheh

regarding sa question
#1 > ang prob ana bai kay naa sa 2nd or 3rd filter chamber, unsa media iya gamit? unsa pud pump iya gamit pati capacity. dili kadretso sa last chmber ang tubig maybe magbara sa mga previous chmber, naa ba overflow every chmber?

#2 > same sa number 1, kelangan usabon set up sa 1st to 3rd chmber, i suggest, isa ka water (filtered) bagsak direct sa pond, ang isa kay sa current to keep the koi active maski ala tao.

#3 > pagma plastar na ang water source na pang current sa ilalom, ma distribute ra na ug tarong ang dissolved oxygen nya, asa ba dapit nya gibutang ang hangin?

#4 > sa kois, ala ta prob, ang pangutana, unsa klase koi iya gus2? (sizes, variety, imported o local),

i'm Mark... ang may-ari ng pond hehe.

First of all salamat kay Vic for taking time sa pag inspect ng pond ko kahapon. Nainis ako sa pond ko ng makita ko ang set-up nya kaya humingi na ako ng tulong.

Second, salamat sa lahat na gustong tumulong.


Ang pond size is 2.75'x3'x30' with 2 4" bd's, 4 - 24'x24' filter chambers (walang overflows) pero may individual drains. Ang media used ay shredded palstic and gravel. Ang air compressor na gamit ko hailea ACO 009. Per specs parang 7000 lph. Ang original intention was to also put aerators sa filter chamber kaya malaki ang binili ko. Sa ngayon hinulog ko na lang ang airstones diretso sa pond.

Dati meron akong 1HP (haha) na submersible pump pero ang problema is that na kaka-encounter ako ng "starvation" sa 4th filter chamber. Kaya binenta ko na lang yung pump.

Sa ngayon may napagtanongan ako at nag-rerecommend sya ng RESUN PG 12000 na submersible pump para sa 2 times na flow cycle per hour daw. Pero not so sure na, baka may kailangan di i-adjust sa plumbing.

Hihintayin ko muna mga recommendations nyo para di mapagastos ng di kailangan.

hi sir, ako pla c ryan, im from davao, ung taga gensan, ang wife ko (sestina)

anywy in my personal view sir, masyadong mlakas ang resun pg 12000 para pond mo sir, considering na bd set up sya. pwed ka mgalagay ng 2 6000lph dyan sir, 1 for current and one for stream.

dalawa din ba ang pvc from bd to first chmber mo sir? its hard to gve advice kung di mkita ang itusra ng filter chmber sir, if u can, bka pwed mo mkunan ng pix den from there mkakabigay kmi d2 ng mgandang comment.

but based sa size ng mga chmbers mo sir, mganda, 24x24 eh. ideal place sa aerator/air stone sir kay sa taas ng bd to properly circulate the water and at the same time pushing the sediment to your bd.

we have thread here sir regarding pond set up, u can brws it for some info.

regrding koi, ala tyo prob dyn sir, we have imported, island born (imported parents), some nice looking local, we need to fix ur pond prob first lng talaga to accomodate the needs of ur future kois.

ganito gawin natin sir, ung 2 4" pvc BD mo, e reduce natin dun sa 1st chamber, gawin nating 2", so may total of 4" ka, the reason of this is to provide pressure papunta sa filter chmbers mo, mas matulak nila ang dumi papuntang BD), gawa narin tyo ng BD cover which will add pressure para mapunta tlaga sa BD mo ang mga debris sa pond floor. lagyan natin ng overflow every chmber para madali mo mkita at malalam ang baradong chamber.

sa first chmber, lagyan natin ng spawning brushes, and nets to filter those big debris, (pre filtration)

sa 2nd chmber, lagyan natin ng ng finer nets and if possible, matala sheets narin, to filter those smaller debris na nakalusot from 1st chmber,

sa 3rd chamber, kung ok pa syo, another set of filter media na much finer sa 2nd chamber, or pwed na rin tyo mag full biological d2. but i think mas ok kung puro finer nets parin like net bags sa ilalim and mosquito nets sa taas,

4th chamber, malaki pa man sya, we can divide that chamber into 2, using some plastic board and and some pandikit sa wall, the first is for biological, if possible, pure bioballs or a combination of flexible electrical tube (cut into small pcs then place them all in a net bag, and ceramic ring. the last chmber will be the pump chmber, nothing but pumps ( 2 pcs at around 3,000lph capacity each), malakas na yan sir kasi di masyado malalim ang pond mo. we will connect one pump dun sa isang TPR mo den the other pump will be for the stream flow or bakki of u want.

option:
pwed na di natin e divide ang 4th cahmber, puro pump chamber nlang sya, den gawa tyo bakki shower and yan na rin ang biological mo sir.

i guess sir the pond filter is okey but i have some suggestion regarding on what i had obeserved on the structure... may be the great solution would be to have a pump that is lesser in capacity as to the turnover of the water & really fits on the connection of your outflow tprs

as i've observed the connections of the chambers around is located at 75% water level, thus there is a probability that the supply of the next chamber intake water is lesser and may cause a delay supply until it reaches the last chamber, also due to the second chamber is a bio filter such as ceramic rings, gravels & activated carbon...

our options will be setting the first chamber purely a SETTING TANK of water intake.. it may look loke this

@ Vic: sayang. actually yung avatar ko was offered sa akin pero nag decide ako na di muna kasi nga may problema sa pond. Hopefully soon. hehehe

yup, yan po sir, but kung mlakas pump mo, pwed na as is nlang sya, dun ka nlang tyo mag lagay ng para pressure sa cover ng BD mo sir, lagyan mo nlang din ng over flow mga transfer pipe para di maubusan ang pump chmber.

ganito nlang sir to lessen the labor, wag mo na muna e reduce ang mga BD line mo, lagyan mo lng muna ng overflow, considering sa laki ng filter chmbers, cguradong crystal clear ang tubig nyan, bsta ok ang mga filter media na gmitin, di magbara ang water flow nyan, khit mlakas ang pump,
